Soy wax is made from the soybean plant, which is grown in the U.S.A., providing income to the American farmer. A bushel of soy beans(approx. 60lbs) are crushed and pressed separating the soy meal and the oil. From each, bushel they produce 49lbs of soy meal and 11lbs of oil. The soy meal is processed into animal feed and food for humans. The oil goes through a process called partial hydrogenation. This process turns the oil into a soft wax. The soy wax is non-toxic and safe for everyone, including pets. Soy wax is clean burning, giving off no harmful carcinogens and producing 95% less black soot. This keeps your jars cleaner(no black on the glass), it also keeps your walls and furniture cleaner as well because there is very little soot being released into the air. Soy wax has a cooler burning point than paraffin which results in a longer burning time for soy wax. Soy wax is highly absorbant, so it is able to hold a larger amount of fragrance oil than paraffin, resulting in a more fragrant candle from beginning to end. Even when the soy wax candle is not in use, the fragrance can still be smelled throughout the room. Soy wax also produces a brighter and steadier flame which results in a high quality candle. Unlike paraffin wax, soy wax is very easy to clean up with a little soap and water.
